Howdy All!

I am putting together my first attempt at building a home studio.
Up until now, I have usually recorded with ADATs. I like ADATs but there are certain limitations.

I would just like to get any and all opinions of the Cubase SE software. A friend of mine who will be working on this project is sold on the SE just from talking to a salesguy at the Sam Ash store in our city.

Also, he wants a PreSonus Firepod. ? The Firepod looks like a quality interface. I think it's more than we need but what the heck?

I'm much more concerned with the software. Any feedback about Cubase SE is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Bill

Billy, I've recently installed SE on my system. I haven't done any recording yet, just a bit of foolin' around. I'm quite impressed so far. The interface is nice and if you're used to Cubase VST there's not a huge world of difference. I used to run a (cracked) copy of VST 24 but I began to feel guilty and the only version I could afford to buy was SE.

One thing I have noticed is missing is a readout of current system latency.
