Hi,

I just grabed a new but cheap Electro/Acoustic Guitar! I found that the output tone is wierd! The 1st string seemsed a bit dark/not bright as the tone from 2nd string! & the 6th string tone or the punch such sound as 4th string if compare with 5th string..Low doeson't sound like low but Mid alike! Strange! Is this caused by the Preamp on board system or the Pickup sensitivity is Low? Or the Saddle Quality? Any other way c'ld I improve that tone to make it Evenly?

Thanks for help![/img]

Well, would say if your looking for a decent recording, try relying on a mic more than a pickup.

The way I look at my recordings in the past is, the pickup sounded buzzy, but the mic sounded real. So, I would use a bit of pickup and mostly mic on the recorded track.

In other words, there are things to look for. In some instances a mic will phase out a pickup, they will work against each other. In that case you can invert the phase of either by switching polarity of the source output.

Generally, I have found others use the pickup for a bass tone and the mic for a top end. This can take some fine tuning to get right. Try recording some tests and listen carefully for phase.

In general, the only way I would use a pickup now is for playing live, or through a guitar amp, good tone comes through a mic much easier IMO.
