Can I borrow your ears?
Forums
If you'd like. I need some suggestions on this. This band is my old band that I recently started recording and I want some opinions on what to do in the mix...this one is really rough. Ignore the beginning and a part that mimics the beginning near the end of the song. That is still a work in progress. Also, the reverb that you hear on the snare will be cut back a lot!

I thought that since you guys help me out with a lot of my problems. I'd offer you a gmail account. It's completely free and you get 1 gig of space. Very nice thing to have! The first five people to reply with their email address gets an invite. After a month or so each of you will have 6 invites to hand out.

Good guitar distortion and tone for recording. HELP ME!
Forums
Lately i've been considering buying a new guitar head to record with because my current one just isn't cutting it. I've been toying around with a Marshall JCM 2000 which has pretty good distortion and superb clean tone and a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier that has excellent distortion and pretty descent clean tone.
M-Audio OmniStudio USB
Forums
I just purchased an OmniStudio and new, powerful PC for home recording. Yes, I've moved into the 21st century after having used various 4-track cassette recorders for the last 20 years. Anyway, I'm at a loss as to how to begin. There's no tutorial! The supplied software includes Reason Adapted (Propellerheads) and Live 3/Ambleton.

front end confusion
Forums
Can anyone please advise on an appropriate "front-end" for my DAW system.
Up till recently I had a large number of keyboard modules, samplers, drum machines, fx boxes etc which, for convenience, I had permanently wired in to a Mackie 32.8. Now I've updated to a G4 plus loads of software instruments and fx. I've got a RME multiface and ADAT so have plenty of inputs and outputs.

Forums
Hey everybody, I'm running seven toms on my kit and am currently tracking them with dbx, DDP's and am pretty happy with the results I'm getting. I'm just curious. what kind kind of compressors are you using when you have seven(or more) toms to take care of? . .
