Transmitting Midi Clock data in Reason Essentials to Alesis SR16 drum machine
I want to transmit midi clock data to my SR16 drum machine so that when i hit record on the transport control and get a 2 bar count in my drum machine
kicks in on time after the 2 bar count so i can record it.
I can do this in Pro Tools easy, but am really struggling for some reason in reason essentials.
Please help!
High-end version of this drum sound?
Hi
I am planning on recording an album, and I'm doing some research - hope someone can help me.
;)
As you can hear, this is not high-end sound, but the feel of this sound suits perfectly on the songs. Can anyone suggest a high-end version of this drum "power" sound? ANY suggestions are welcome!
Thanks
smoke
regards
Pilu from Greenland

Mixing MIDI Drum Sample Ideas
Okay, so I'm posting this to find out what techniques people use when using MIDI drum samples for a beat. I'm new to this idea and am uncomfortable with it. I know I'm not going to get a sound that's as "open" as an acoustic drum set.

Suggestions for inexepensive drum overhead mics
So; I have around $300-400 that I can spend on purchasing some drum overheads for my home studio. I'd like to replace the cheap MXL 603's that I've been using with, I guess, "less" cheap ones. I've been reading some interesting things on different sites about the Avantone CK-1's and the Kel KM-1's.
Need help: Drum recording with condenser mics
Hello experts,
Im new to the world of drum recording and wondering about whether or not to keep using condenser mics. I find them brighter and more sensible to transients, hence picking up a cleaner sound, but when I use a lot of condensers together the madness begins. Bleeds mostly. Which make editing near to impossible.
compressors for guitar and drum tracks
Hey I'm pretty new to this and i've just started using some compressors on some guitar and drum tracks i've recorded I don't know where to start. Please help! I usually just set the threshold low and turn and turn up the input til i hear it working. Btw, if I want to limit the kick drum i just set the ratio above 10:1? I heard that somewhere. I really need to know how to use these things.

My drum mics
I finally can record stereo drums but need some advice on which specific mic to put where. I have anSM58, a Sennheiser e835, an MXL 990, and an MXL 991 condenser. I have an ATM 25 on the kick, so that's taken care of. Just trying to figure out which mics should be left and right, which one I should put on my rack toms, and if I should put one directly overhead or on the snare. Please help!
