Either the D112 or the Shure Beta 59? Or is it the 56? Opinions on this one?

I'm planning on purchasing an mbox/pro tools rig, but I need help choosing which mics to buy.

I went to guitar center to just look around and decided to ask the guy which 2 mics he would recommend (I'm looking to spend around $100 per mic, one for guitar, one for vocals).

Hi everybody.

I'm from Argentina and here everything is 6 times expensive than, for say, EEUU. so I'm very worried about making the wrong decision. that's because I can't listen the mics before buying them (yes, believe it!).

Can anybody help me?

I'd like to get a large diameter dynamic to compliment my existing collection (small though it is),it looks as though the sm7 would be a good vocal mic for me,I have a voice that has been said to sound almost exactly like DAvid Byrn,I'd say bits of Springsteen and Elvis Costello as well.The thing is I'd like to get a 421 for guitar and I can't buy both. How would a 421 sound on my voice?

Looking for a new mic purchase primarily for vocal use. At the moment I'm stuck with a RODE NT1 and a CAD M179. They're ok but I'm ready to take the next step up. My current preamp is a Joemeek VCQ1, Mackie XDR, and i've just ordered the RNP & RNC combo.

EV RE 20 or Shure SM7?

Hey guys and gals, looking to round out mic collection. Never used either of these but would like to change that. Was wondering on what the consensus was. Uses: kick, floor toms, bass cab, vox? etc. Thanks J

I was digging through a box of cables,etc... and came across 2 old Shure ribbon Mics model #33. Anybody know anything about these? One seemed to work better than the other so I'm guessing some work needs to go into them to make them completely functional. Just wondering if it would be worth it? Am I sitting on a gold mine? Can I sell them on ebay and afford college tuition for my children?

My mic closet as it stands contains : AKG Solidtube, Shure KSM32, AKG C3000b, AKG C1000s (2), Sennheiser 421 (3), Shure SM57 (2), AKG D112, Electro-Voice RE20.
