Just received a copy of the UAD-1's Dreamverb along with their new drivers and I must say I'm impressed. It has certainly exceeded my expectations and it's easy to tweek. The official release is not out yet but should be in a few days.

I'm thinking about getting one and I'd love to hear any comments (good or bad) on the quality of the plugs.

I am thinking about getting 2nd UAD card.

I have a 2.2Ghz P4 w/ P4B533-V. & 1 gig ram.
Should this work ok. Are there any known problems?
Will be UAD processing/memmory headroom go up by 100% or like 50% or something?

I just bit the bullet and bought this plugin for my UAD card, and so far, I think I am in love! I am still trying to get my brain around all the ins and outs of it, but it looks like it is a really fine piece of work. I guess it is supposed to be an Oxford clone, but for the price (US$149), I don't see how that is possible.

I had a friend 'master' a track of mine with the UAD-1. Although my mix was a bit weak, the results were. well let's say I want one :)

I've heard that using them on individual tracks is not working very well in Logic audio...bigtime latency. Anyone using this effectively? Should I just switch to nuendo now? I'd love to strap the 1176 on some drums. .

I'm looking for a mic preamp / compressor with character and the UA 6176 looks good. I have an LA audio VP-1 (British) which has valve or solid state mike pre and fab EQ but the compressor stinks, (as does the expander). Problem is it doesn't really warm the sound when pushed but goes straight to awfull distortion.
I read the negative comments re the Avalon 737 with great interest.

Audio Mic Preamps on this forum much.

Many people use UA products like the 1176, La2a etc.

I use the M610 and have a 2108 on the way.

My friend has a 2108 and I think it sounds
amazing with a studio Projects C3.

Are there just plain better pres for the $.?

I have a huge problem with latency when using UAD-1 plugin card in logic 5.5. Delay compensation plugin doesn't help much. What should I do? Is there something I have to set in logic's options?
