Hi, Im new to the site, and recording in general.

I have Sonar 6.0. A tone port line 6 device, which i think works great for what i need to accomplish. I dont like any of the presets it has.. because it still doesn't like the real thing. So I've made the decision to MIic My peavey 5150 2.

anyone use this as a di using Pro Tools?

I recently realised I don't have a decent acoustic guitar so it's time I got one. I don't really wanna go over £200 ($390). I don't want a very big guitar neither.

hi there, i play spanish guitar in a uberamateur environment. i have a wamirack esi pro 192 soundcard, Cubase and a sm57, which i know is not the right mic.
so i d like to hear some advice on best mic to use, up to 300 usd, or if in a room like mine (windows, furniture) it d be worth the extra expnese of getting two mics. also the positioning of them ...

I'm setting up Guitar Rig on a mono channel and sending my guitar through a DI to my MBOX to Pro Tools and I can hear both the distorted sound and the clean DI sound. I dont know if anyone has had a similar situation or could give me a hand. I'm sure its the dumbest thing too, hehe. Thanks.

I'm getting ready to record guitars and I have a potential problem. I'm not using a room mic but only 2 (MD421, and SM57) mics on the 4x12 cabinet right on the cones (one offset) and the other pointed at the center cone. My space isn't but so big, about 22x12, and we are currently rehearsing in the space as well.

What's the best amp head for: Hard Rock or Metal, Pop/Blues, Vintage sound, Clean sound, or all of the above?

Just wondering what kind of effects most of you use to create different sounds? New to all this and just trying to get some ideas. I listen a lot to will ackerman, and i love his recordings.

I've just recorded a guitar line track monitoring via an amp-simulator plugin in my DAW (only as a test).

Now I'd like to reproduce this guitar track through a real guitar amp and try to record it.

I've seen many products like REAMP box or Radial JD7, but I'm not interested in buying such equipment.
