Good drum sample CD's?

I tried creating my own drums with a midi keyboard, but that didn't work out for me...so it's back to Fruity Loops. Does anyone know of any good CD's and contain single drum hits? (Kick, Snare, Hats...etc). I want real drums, and I want to create something that sounds more human. I do an ok job with the samples in Fruity Loops, but I think it would be better with nicer samples.

who knows what drum mic technique was used in.

just curious if anyone knows what drum Micing techniques were used by any of todays albums available in stores/heard on the radio. it seems to be the consensus with everyone i know personally(which isn't saying a whole lot where i'm at), to mic every top skin with a dynamic, a condensor over the hi hat, and a stereo pair of condensers over the cymbols. and i know about placement and all that.

Old School: Iron Maiden: Drum Recording

Hello all. I'm new here and glad I found this forum. I was wondering if anyone out there has any info on the techniques/equipment/mics that Nicko McBrain used in the Piece of Mind sessions. I read an article years ago in which he described in great detail how they achieved the drum sound (which I think is amazing) on that album, but I have no idea what happened to it.

iDrum and Audio Desk

Hello All!

I just purchased a MOTU 896HD and a Power Mac G5.

I used to work as a recording engineer in an analog studio years ago. This is my first foray into dig recording.

When I got the above gear, I also got a copy of iDrum by Glaresoft. While they say it's compatible with Digital Performer they don't think it'll plugin to Audio Desk. (anyone done this?)
