Any good suggestions for good comp for hip hop and r&b's drum tracking. i much like SSL comp sound. so i'm not engineer and just producer & track maker. but i always touch it any project.

What's the best way to master the bass drum track to make it sound different from the bass? And why is the bass i record, which i record directly, sound blurry and muddy and each note is not precise?

was just wondering if anyone could recommend to me any hi quality drum sample packages to use in my home studio? I'm runnin a mac g4 with Pro Tools, looking for something a bit vintage and organic sounding as I'd also like to use it as a backing track to help improve my bass playing!

Does anybody have suggestions as to buying ACID loops
for swing, standards, and jazz styles? I have been on Ebay, and no one seems to offer tasty mainstream quality loops...

I just can't get a good Drumset recording. I've tried everything. I can now (after a week) get a decent drumset recording, but not near what I want. I'm getting there, but I can't get anything better than what I have. I've tried multiple mic placements, volumes, etc.

Ok guys...I'm looking for a CD of individual drum hits. preferably metal/hard rock drums. The only CD's I can find are loops or Drum Kit from Hell/BFD type programs. I want to be able to load the .wav files into Fruity Loops to create my own drum beats.

I'm looking for opinions on drum mics and overhead mics. I've heard good things about RODE NT 5s and also SENNHEISER e614s for overhead micing. Also curious about choices for drum mics? Thanks in advance, Tony

I have read several posts on this subject, and based on my budget (which ain't much) I have decided on these two opitons:

Kel HM-1 matched pair
MXL 603s matched pair

Would anyone be willing to offer an opinion on these two mic.s, or an option that I should consider.
