Wiring classic Shure 545 unidyne iii 4 pin amphenol to XLR
Can anybody help me with the correct cable wiring for a Shure 545 which has 4 pin amphenol connector (the type which changes impedance by changing the mic cable) very early I believe made in USA before Shure moved production to Mexico.
I bought 2 of these for my son but need to try to sort cables for him

Shure beta 58a vs. other stuff, really important question.
Hello, I'm Damien and I have a life matter question. Right now I'm
in the middle of recording my band's first album. We are from totally
different country, but we decided to commit our lives to the music and
start to live in London. For about five months it will happen, so as you
can see, this album is really important for us.
Why Shure calls it BETA
I've always wondered why Shure has a microphone line called BETA. To me BETA sounds like its not ready for commercial use. Does anyone know why and where the BETA came from?

Looking for audio interface / mic preamp recommendations (spoken vocals, Shure SM7B)
Hi all! I'm putting together a home studio and am looking for some recommendations before I buy.
As for my situation, I'm recording spoken vocals for audio-only video games -- essentially radio dramas with some interactive elements. For now I only need to record 1 actor at a time, but I want my studio to support more than that in case I need multiple simultaneous actors later on.
good mic to pair with a Shure SM57 for recording guitars?
Can anyone answer the above question, mainly when i record guitars at the moment i mic my cab with an SM57, record the dry signal through my BSS Audio active D.I. Box and also record the Balanced signal from the direct out on the back of my Marshall TSL100 then blend the Direct out signal with the SM57 signal.

Here's a recording - No preamps, no Shure mics recorded in one night
Just uploaded it. I think this one will do well for the youtube channel.
Shure SM57 vs. Heil PR20 on Heavy Guitars
Both are very good mics that anyone should be able to achieve good sound with. The SM57 is a classic and many classic and modern guitar tracks have been recorded with them. The Heil PR20 is a different sound and sounds more balanced to my ear. Fuller on the low end, easier on the brightness, but one drawback is that it seems a little busy in the mids. Little EQ to fix this, not a big deal.
