Hi

I'm looking for a good mic at around 200 to 300$ for vocals (with westernguitar sound). I don't have the chance to try out several mics so I'm tied to get recommendations from a forum.

I've read several topics and I think that I'm looking for a dynamic mic because it's more robust and easier to handle. I'm specially interested in these ones:

Shure SM82 - anyone know how to use this thing?

A local pawn shop had a couple of these mics and after doing a little research on them decided to pick one up for the relative bargain price they're selling them at. The mic is an odd one...a broadcast mic with built in amplifier and limiter that puts out a line level signal. It is set up to use a battery (that's no longer available) or phantom power.

Shure SM57

i just recieved a Shure sm57 from ebay.. in the box it contained the mic itself with no lead. I have a lead from my previous PG48 and it fits perfectly however my computer does not recognise the microphone and when its plugged in theres nothing that says that the microphone if working

any ideas what the problem could be?

Opinions on Shure Drum Mic Package

Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with the Shure's 6 drum mic package deal. What did you think of the sound? I would like to get some good mics for recording drums at a price that isn't too great ($300-$400). I have an SM57, a 58 and a pretty nice condenser mic (though the name escapes me). Ideas? Thanks for the help.
